Travel Sentry’s Recycling Initiative: Supporting Airports and the Environment

At Travel Sentry, we make travel safer with a smart luggage inspection system. Our system allows security officers to check bags quickly without damage. This reduces delays and gives travelers peace of mind. We also provide secure tools and training for airport security teams.

To support our airport partners, we offer a free maintenance program. This program keeps security tools in top condition at no cost to airports. It also includes a waste recycling effort to cut down on municipal solid waste and protect natural resources.

How Our Maintenance Program Helps

Our program ensures smooth airport operations. Here’s how we help:

Free Tool Replacement: We replace broken tools like keys and Travel Sentry Passkey sets (TSPs). This reduces waste management concerns.
Recycling Old Tools: We collect and recycle used tools through a careful recycling process.
Ongoing Support: Our team helps with tool updates and system improvements whenever needed.

In the last two years, our waste recycling program has made a big impact:

Recycled 318 pounds (144kg) of material, which equals about 1,632 tools (each weighing 3 oz). This reduces the need for new raw materials.
Recycled 30 TSPs, adding 12 pounds of metal to be recycled and reused.

We recycle fewer materials now as we focus on making stronger tools. This way, airports always have reliable replacements when needed. Many of our tools now use recycled plastic, showing our commitment to sustainability.

Recycling helps cut waste at airports. By reusing common recyclables, such as plastic bottles, paper products and metal parts, we help the environment. Our program ensures that old tools don’t end up in municipal solid waste.
